Creating Harmony

Ted Hallman's latest creation, Suspended Harmonies, is on display at the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown through March 3. The installation includes pieces of sculpture-like artwork that represent trees, clouds and the sun, creating an abstract landscape environment.

“People have been looking at landscapes in the museum for many years, but they have not had the opportunity to walk into a landscape,” Hallman explained. “You walk into this space and you definitely feel like you’re out of the museum and into another world.”

The Montgomery County artist has created pieces that represent elements of landscapes, such as rain, snow and a rainbow. Almost all of the pieces are hanging and created with yarn, fiber, plastic ribbon, wire and acrylic roping. Steel armatures anchor the top and bottom of the artwork.
